Knotplan  -  Patrone

Knotplans are called patrons and have been used for centuries by the weavers to know the position and colours of each knot in a carpet design. Usually designs have to be converted into coloured dots, either drawn with a brush on a grid (cartridge paper) which is a labour intensive task especially if the modern designs containing irregular pattern. To paint a knot plan by hand can be more work than knotting the whole carpet. Therefore I developed a programme which converts the digital design into printable patrons or scripts from which the craftman can read how to knot the carpet; the lengthy process of manually applying the colors on graph paper is omitted and the results are accurate.
