Using digital colours |
digital.colors The objective is the carpet and not the screen. Working on digital carpet design you should first decide either for natural dyed hand spun wool or fast dyed machine spun wool. With eye-dropper-tool you can pick in your graphic program the colors from any of our digital palettes and you may use up to 48 colors in one design but usually carpets do not have more than 5 to 16 colors because many colors increase the labor and production costs and the beauty of carpet benefits only in rare cases. Screen colors are defined with RGB codes and you can with any graphic-program use our rgb-palettes, which resemble as much as possible the original wool-shades or you may change the rgb - codes according to the needs within your design. However wool and screen are different media and may be that colors of the wool do not always appear exactly the same as on screen especially when natural dye are used. If you want to use other colors as in our standard palettes available, you have to produce and send samples and we dye the wool accordingly. Too small differences in screen-colors may be visible on the screen but may become almost non visible in the carpet; therefore it is advisable to keep sufficient color-contrast. Please note that natural wool cannot be dyed into extremely bright colors like it is done with cotton or synthetic fibers and once the wool is knotted it appears generally a little darker than loose wool. |
